THE SATURDAY RITUAL
Coat it on thick, like frosting a cake. No sanding, no scrubbing. Then walk away.
Latex and chalk paint bubble up within the hour. Polyurethane and epoxy take 5 to 8. The gel stays wet the whole time, so overnight is fine too.
Decades of paint slide off in ribbons. Stubborn spot? Brush on a little more and scrape again, no cleanup in between.
Wipe down with the Finishing Cleaner to lift the last of the residue. Bare, clean wood, ready for stain or paint.

WHY IT WORKS
01ONE PASS
Brush it on thick, give it time, and paint, varnish and stain lift together. Stubborn spots take a second coat with no cleanup in between.
“It stripped off 3 layers of old paint.”
02NO HARSH FUMES
Our soy-based gel lets you strip in the garage or the basement with the windows open, without clearing everyone out of the house.
“The stripper had a really nice smell... The product also worked really quickly which was a bonus.”
CUSTOMER PHOTO03GENTLE ON WOOD
The gel softens the finish, not the wood. Antiques, veneer and carved details come out clean and ready for stain.
“This is my grandmother's bedroom furniture - real mahogany and approximately 150 years old.”
WHY GREENEZ
Built by a dad who got sick of what the job put in the air.
GOT QUESTIONS?
Everything to know before you brush on the first coat.
Latex, oil-based and chalk paint, plus varnish, shellac, lacquer, polyurethane and epoxy. Paint and varnish usually let go within the hour. Poly and epoxy need a longer wait, so give those 5 to 8 hours.
Heads up: factory-sealed finishes, like the original coating on most new furniture and kitchen cabinets, are cured too tightly for our gel to soak in. Not sure what you have? Brush a thick coat on a hidden spot, cover it with plastic and wait 5 to 8 hours. If it wrinkles or scrapes off soft, you're good to go. No change means it's a factory finish, and sanding is the better route.
Yes. There are no harsh fumes, so most of our customers work in the garage, the basement or a spare room. Keep a window open or a fan running, and wear nitrile gloves and safety glasses. If your piece was painted before 1978, test for lead first and wear a mask.
Yes. The gel softens the finish, not the wood, so antiques, veneer and carved details come out clean. Test a hidden spot first, and scrape with the grain using a plastic or dull scraper on thin veneer.
50 to 60 minutes for one or two coats of paint or varnish, 3 to 4 hours for built-up layers, and 5 to 8 hours or overnight for polyurethane and epoxy. Cover it with plastic on long waits so it stays wet. Leaving it on for up to 24 hours won't hurt the piece.
No. Scrape off what has lifted, brush on a little more where it's stubborn, and wait again. The residue won't hurt anything.
It lifts the last of the stripper residue so your new stain or paint grips the wood. Wipe it on with a damp cloth, follow with a clean water rag, and let the piece dry fully before you refinish. It also cleans your brushes.
Not always. After the Finishing Cleaner, many customers stain or paint right away. For the best paint adhesion, a light pass with 220 grit sandpaper helps.
Yes. It lifts paint from metal hardware and frames too. Test a small spot first on anything with a plated or specialty finish.
It almost always needs more time or a thicker coat. Brush on about 1/8 inch, cover it with plastic so it doesn't dry out, and give tough finishes 5 to 8 hours. Still stuck? Chat with us and we'll help you get it done. Every kit is backed by our 30-day guarantee.
If you don't already own safety gear, yes. The Deluxe adds a 3M mask, two pairs of gloves, goggles, a scraper and three brushes, so you can start the moment the box arrives.
